Yelp, Foursquare, and all the rest

Thanks to social media, falling off the grid is not as easy as it used to be, and as we see it, it’s a good thing. If you want to know what’s going on in town and where your friends are gathering, you can sign up for Foursquare, Facebook Places or Yelp and track them as they visit new locations.

There’s an added level of fun and one-upsmanship as Foursquare awards badges for visiting various venues and crowns the most frequent visitor the Mayor of a location. It’s all in good fun.

The most useful aspect of these services is feedback. If you’re dining out, you can check into a restaurant and see what your friends have said. They may have recommended a particular dish, or a place to sit, at a restaurant, and it can change your experience into a more personal visit. We’re active on Yelp, Facebook and Foursquare, and we’re happy to have you as our friend on Foursquare, and of course on Yelp, too. On Facebook, we’ve “claimed” all the places where people have checked in and added useful information for your benefit.
