Joseph Davey is our Corporate Beverage Manager, and he’s always experimenting
with new drink recipes and keeping up with trends in the beverage world.
We’re debuting a new beverage menu this week that includes some of Joseph’s best work. There are martinis for those who love that classic beverage but also
more unusual choices that incorporate ingredients such as Godiva Chocolate Vodka.
Joseph tells us the process of creating the new menu has taken a lot of time. He first created a list of 45 to 50 drinks, and asked customers at the Indianapolis location (where he serves as General Manager) to try a few out. There were some he considered to be terrific drinks, but the customers didn’t agree, so out they went. We always listen to the customers!
“We wanted to have something for everyone on the list,” Joseph says. “Some are sweeter drinks, and some are not. We wanted everything from the very best classic martini to much more exotic choices.”
He also named the drinks, with some help from some other Eddie Merlot’s staff. He credits Jenny Boyd, who operates our Platinum Club program, with naming the Agave Citrus Crusher.
Joseph recently debuted the new drinks for a meeting of the General Managers, and each had a favorite on the list. With a few exceptions, no two people picked the same drink as their favorite, Joseph says, which he regards as a testimony to the strength of the libations menu. “There really is something for everyone on the list,” Joseph says.

Classic Grey Goose Martini in a dry vermouth seasoned glass
The Dirty Bird
A dirty version of The Goose garnished with three gorgonzola stuffed olives
Editor’s note: for the uninitiated, a dirty martini contains a small amount of olive brine.
Bombay Sapphire Martini (shaken not stirred)

Finlandia vodka infused with fresh pineapple and garnished with a fresh cut pineapple wedge
The Toasted Nut Martini
Cazadores Blanco 100% Blue Agave Tequila, Cointreau, hand- pressed lime juice and a splash of simple syrup served iced cold and up.
Luxardo Limoncello Cooler
Grey Goose Le Citron Vodka, muddled oranges, lemons and limes with Luxardo Limoncello, orange bitters and a splash of ginger ale. Served up with a fresh cut orange slice and three lemon heads.
Agave Citrus Crusher
Godiva Chocolate Martini
Godiva Chocolate Vodka and Godiva White Liqueur served with a chocolate sugar rim.
Blue Sage Cosmo
Fresh blueberries, sage and simple syrup muddle and mixed with Finlandia vodka, triple sec and cranberry juice garnished with a sage leaf.
Asian Splash Martini
Fresh ginger muddled with lemon juice and simple syrup, Grey Goose L ‘Orange Vodka, Cointreau, and drops of cranberry juice.
Grey Goose La Poire Vodka, Cointreau, and white grape juice topped with a splash of ginger ale. Garnished with fresh pear and red grapes.
Mint infused simple syrup mixed with Woodford Reserve Bourbon and served over crushed ice garnished with a mint sprig.
Mixed Message Martini
Finlandia Pineapple infused vodka with fresh blue berries muddled with pineapple, and basil.
