Come see us – and bring your friends. All of them.

A toast: To a great setting

We love hosting group events. Sometimes it’s just a small group of 10 or less who needs extra attention. Or it can be a group of 80 celebrating a wedding. We love it all, and we’re happy to accommodate special requests and needs.
We can tell you all about our affection for group events, but we think it sounds a lot better if it’s coming from one of our guests. Recently, Susan Reid hosted a group event at our Burr Ridge location for the North American Spine Society. She took a few minutes to tell us about her experience in her own words.
A big thank you to Alan Nicholson at the Marriott Burr Ridge, who referred her to us.

She hosted a group of six at Eddie Merlot’s. She tells us her table ordered blue cheese potato chips, calamari, oysters, filets and steaks, crab stuffed lobster tails, berries with ice cream and carrot cake.

Susan tells us the blue cheese potato chips were amazing, the filet was fabulous and the carrot cake was awesome.

What were the reactions of those who came with you? “My sales team and surgeons are used to dining at some of the best restaurants in the country,” Susan says. “Everyone at our table agreed this was the best meal they’ve had in a long, long time, based on the food, the atmosphere, the service and the overall experience. My colleagues raved about the oysters. I don’t eat oysters but they said those were the best they’ve had.”

We can provide an elegant buffet to give guests choices, or table service. Take your pick.

Susan tells us they also dined at another restaurant in the area during that same time frame. They requested a semi-private room so they could discuss business, and that request was ignored. The group had a difficult time hearing and following the conversation, the food was lackluster and the service second-rate. “I have referred everyone to Eddie Merlot’s, hope they take my advice,” Susan says. “I don’t know when I’ll be back to Burr Ridge, but I’ll make sure I hit Eddie Merlot’s at least once during my stay. Dealing with Traci Smith was a joy and she was so accommodating! The semi-private room was gorgeous and we ended up having it all to ourselves.”
Yes, we love Traci Smith, our sales director at the Burr Ridge location. Thanks for giving her a shout-out, Susan! We look forward to serving you again soon.
